Passes and tickets are here!
Now what would people like to do there are 2 options
I send them out in the post, or
We meet at a prearranged place and issue them there (you need the passes to get in)
Pro's and con's I see of both
Pro: You'll have them to get in when you want to and don't have to worry about meeting up
Con: Might get lost in the post, or not arrive in time
Pro: Won't get lost and they'll be there on the day when you need them
Con: If you miss us, or we get lost, no-one can get in!
So what would people like to do?
Here's a few things you NEED to know though:
We MUST BE THERE BY NO LATER THAN 8AM OR YOU WILL ALL MISS YOUR BRIEFINGS AND YOU WON'T BE ALLOWED OUT ON TRACK
Those going on track need:
To sign the disclaimer before going out (I have those too)
You MUST attend the safety briefing
HELMETS ARE COMPULSORY
Arms and legs must be covered
You must sign your track pass
You must have a full current driving licence
Seatbelts must be worn
No slick tyres
Cars must be suitable for the track and compliant with MOT standards
The sound limit is 100Db at 4500rpm, 1/2m from the exhaust.
Those are all mandatory requirements set out by the organisers!
Anyone not going on track, you just need to display your vehicle stand pass to get on the stand, and just turn up!
As you'll al be travelling 'down' and I'll be travelling 'up' it would be best, for me, if you posted mine - save me a few extra miles
If anyone wanted to avoid quite such an early start I've got a sofa bed in my living room that you'd be more than welcome to use, the track is about 20 miles (40 minutes) away.
I don't know if they sound check cars at this event but be warned that Castle Combe are very hot on their noise regs!!!
They do sound test on the day at the track before your first track session!
Will post yours too Don
They do sound check - however last time I was there they laughed at mine! They only asked drivers to rev to 3000 rpm
At those revs the little 3 cyl engine barely even starts to grumble! so of course - much amusement at the lowest sound recording I think they ever received!
Perhaps I should make reving noises with my lips this year
I was right on the limit with my beat, think I got 99Db out of the 100Db limit that year... :-\
Awesome I'm glad someone has got there's hehe
Trying to find out where Steve's have got to!
Everyone has the same first session (how good am I to you guys?)
George has an extra one at 9:40am I think it was, because he likes to show off
Unfortunately Richard (copenboy) is unsure whether he will be able to make it at all, someone very kindly drove into the back of his lovely copen and I think he's being having a lot of trouble getting it fixed in time.
I'm taking his advanced ticket though in the hope he can make it *crosses fingers for Richard and his lovely copen* (which happens to also be the featured car this week)
