We were lucky enough to have all we needed for a belt change included with the car.

I'm taking pictures of the parts and numbers as we go, just not posting them up yet until I know they fit!

Thanks for the help though.

At the moment we need, but do not have a head gasket, inlet manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket or head bolts. Do you know if these are common with the Daewoo?

Ahh think I remember you saying in a earlier post. I'll do some digging!

EDIT:

A good engineering/motor factors should be able to match the Headbolts and even the inlet and exhaust gaskets up.My local shop is usually great for this where as most factors don't have a clue.

I found this..

Looks like a N/A F6A though and I'm not 100% sure with the headgasket due to it been turbo. TADO is the best man as he's got the parts book.

Lets just say it's very Japanese.
I think you'll have to wait until the weekend!
I'm very excited about this. I'm fully expecting it to be stuffed with cute cartoon diagrams like the old tamiya manuals and lots of amusing pictures of Aki Hoshino demonstrating Carol with huge 80s/90s hair. It will break my heart if its any less amazing than that.  :dancing:
edit - I hope there is some sort of Carol-chan mascot as well.

I'd be prepared to bet that, somewhere out there, there is a full lineup of anthropomorphized Kei-kos.

This has been great to read

Why all these awesome rare cars get ditched and left to die is beyond me, similar story with ford Capris, just left to rot n fall apart :(

Glad you enjoyed the story. It is such a shame that cars get abandoned, there's usually a home somewhere for all of them. You just need to find that someone to take them in.

I took the starter motor over to my Dad yesterday and he bench tested it for us, needs a little grease but other wise working perfectly (we couldn't test it under load).

However our search for a head gasket in time for KKITP has proven fruitless - our initial plan failed and leads to people who have a gasket didn't get us anywhere... so it seems Carol might not make KKITP after all the work we've done.
:(

I'm really gutted.

Have you got anyone local that could make you a solid metal copy of the original - that should work.

I'm not sure, but we've pretty much ran out of time now.
