Harry Hockly ECU Identification
Can anyone out there who has had one of these or seen one up close let me know if they are easily identified? Were they some kind of modded standard box or was it an aftermarket type?
Modified stock ecu as far as I am aware.
I seem to remember they look identical to the standard ones. The only way I could tell the difference between the two ecu's was to fit it to the car and go for a blast ... The HH ecu would rev to over 10k rpm, I think the std ones have a rev limit of around 9k?
Hi I have a DRS ecu for the avanzato trxx r4 its identical to the original ecu on the outside,and fits straight on the eng loom.The rev limiter is removed and the speedo if cable fails which was common doesnt put on EML on.Fueling is different and you can alter boost to a very high limit without fuel cut.My avanzato is so quick power flow exhaust,cat removed and itg air filter.Makes me smile
I wonder why they removed the revlimiter ? Is there any difference in fueling/ignition at the same level of boost etc, or does it just provide extra mapping for higher boost ?
Im thinking perhaps they removed the revlimit to allow the driver to stay in gear longer for corners etc rather than for power?
Has anyone ever had one of these back to back on a rolling road?
