Hey everyone!
Basically there is a company who I've been speaking to on the phone that usually sell very old classic restorations. But they have picked up an avanzato Trxx of an old works rally driver they are friends with. It's an absolutely cherished model, and has less than 13k on it. The pictures show what good condition it.I'd in but the price Is £9999. I've spoken to them and they have offered to drop it too £8000 and make not much profit in it if I am truly interested. Would this be a stupid purchase? I'd be getting what is basically a brand new avanzato, but could I import for cheaper? What does everyone think?

they were around £9000 brand new. Personally I see it as no point because its still an old car which will mean perished rubbers and no matter what they say there will be rust on the car.
You could import a near enough perfect condition and low millage avanzato for £5000 could even go for the rarer l200.

Yeah thanks for that, as pretty sure I was looking with my heart and not my head.

This is the advert should anyone be interested, I'm gonna look for something else, I might be buying a Crz as daily so I can keep looking for my perfect kei.

I know these little Daihatsu's are gradually becoming harder to find, especially in good condition.
But personally I think they are asking to much and will struggle to sell it for that price.
However a car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay so I could be wrong

If it was a delivery mileage car that had been kept in storage I can see an enthusiast paying that, but £10k for a second hand T reg Mira seems a very long shot to me...

Yeah I spoke with them again, don't seem too pleased I suggested that 8k might still be a little too much as it's not quite the classic everyone knows. I'm sure it will get sold at some point and I'd love to have it just can't part with that amount for the car.
I've been looking at Honda CRZs for my new daily, and would rather spend around £8k on one of those, getting all the comforts with it and living.with it every day.

If i remember rightly that car has been rear ended in some time of its life.

Really? And they want £9999 for it. Jesus.
I'm mailing alljapanesemotors in Cheshire to see if they can get me one or an Alto works if not. If that fails it will probably be time to buy a CRZ, as I do need to be back on the road soon.

That's the one from the video that we're not allowed to mention on this site, right?
It's probably the cleanest standard-ish spec one in the UK (the wooden interior panels aren't standard to the Avanzato, and neither is the steering wheel), but for that sort of price, it's not going to sell. Especially considering that you can get a completely rust free, generally mint example from Japan for 3-4k cheaper. I don't know though, maybe a collector with too much money will have it and keep it locked up in a hermetically sealed garage, never to see the light of day again?
