Hello and welcome!
The zato has become very popular with a few other new members searching for one. Keep your eyes on ebay and pistonheads, they seem to pop up on there often.
Hello and welcome to the site, the Dangan will be very difficult to find over here, but there have been a couple of Alto`s about but very rare,so the mira is more common because it was officially imported by diahatsu for a couple of years, and if you manage to get hold of one you will not be dissapointed,
Yeah, I have let a few slip, just testing the water with them seeing roughly the prices they go for, and how long they stay on the likes of pistonheads e.t.c.
I needed to find somewhere which specialises in purely kei cars in the UK, and I eventually got pointed in the right direction (here) - You guys from what I have seen so far, know the ins and outs and who has what, where and when.. so i'll stick around if you don't mind and hopefully can become part of the family soon with my own little kei car
Hey Steve, yours is a little gem! - I believe I saw it on a video I watched a while back on youtube at a meet somewhere! - I love when I join a new forum, and I start to see what nice and well kept examples are still kicking about
Hopefully I'll get sorted out soon!
Can I just ask a few quick questions since you own one..
- What MPG do you get?
- How much Tax do you pay?
- What are routine services like - i.e. will the dealers still sort it out, I know d'hatsu are leaving uk in 2013
- How do they handle motorway driving.. constant 70mph for long journeys?
- any little niggly things to look out for that you only notice when owning one?.. like .. i dunno.. dodgy cup holders.. fuse boxes?
Welcome to the forum
in terms of looking for an Avanzato, join the queue lol! They do come up almost regularly so just keep an eye on this forum and you will be one of the first to know where one is for sale and whether it seems to be in an alright condition.
in terms of MPG, you'll be looking at anywhere between 40-55mpg depending on how you drive it and its condition.
tax is around
Hahah that's excellent Boulder! - The seats look okay mind!
I have another 2 questions I forgot to ask, what are they like in terms of Safety?.. or is Safety with these little things totally theoretical? lol..
Insurance? - I presume should be okay?
I''m going to head off to bed anyways - I'm shattered been burning the candle at both ends!
Thanks ever so much for your quick respeonses guys! - what a fab forum, I'll speak to you all tomorrow!
no problem mate, im always happy to help where i can.
in terms of safety, I think youre probsbetter off avoiding finding out the answer to that question. As they arent very big cars, I think the safety features are aimed at low speed impacts rather than motorway speed accidents.
The uk avanzatos are on most insurance databases so insuring them is generally not a problem.
As Gary has just said, have been really lucky with mine and have only needed service items, good source of parts is http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m6b81s0p0,i find my glove box is a bit rattely, there is a lack of space but you don`t buy these cars for family use,on uk r4 models there is a possibility the gear box will need a rebuild at some point, drive ok on motorways and can hold there own up to 100 ,but will not be as economical on motorway trips because of the small engine, apart from that great little car
