im going to hijack the thread as ive brought it of daren :)

he has done half the hard work already and got a new manifold that came with the car, im gonna start trying to get the manifold and turbo of in the next week, have found a few replacement turbos already but funds are stopping me from buying 1 till next month but i hope to have it up and running in a month or 2 also as it comes of easy but the nuts and bolts look rather rusted and no doubt will have fun getting the lower bolts of, will update with lots of pictures once i start stripping it down

had a bit of free time today so thought would start removing turbo and manifold, it all came of very easyly, took around half hour to get bumper, turbo and manifold totaly removed.




the manifold was totaly dead, had massive cracks in it on top and the bottom, and mush of been losing so much if not all the boost

looking at the flange on the manifold i would say thats its been blowing a fair bit aswell as its rather sooty round the hole all the way to the end of the manifold


luckily the gaskets are all good, the manifold to exhaust looks like its been replaced at some point so that saves the hassle of making new gaskets

Manifold to turbo gasket is worth replacing even if it looks good, I've had a reused one fail even though it looked good. It's much less grief to do it while the turbo is off than having to do it later.

Suzuki part no is 14181-54A50 - same as the cappo. Well worth the £10 or so, IMO, just for peace of mind.

cheers don, thats a good shout, im lucky i live 5 mins away from a suzuki main dealer and they have orderd me 1 up.

i removed the turbo from down pipe and very quickly realised that the manidofl was not the cause of the no boost, the penny flap had fallen apart and was not there any more





popped down to crturbos and i knwo them very well as they built all my pervious hybrids on my starlets, they checked it over adn said its in very good condition, i was a bit worried about the oil in hte exhaust but he said due to lack of back preassure due to no penny flap adn were its been sat for ages its nothing to worry about,
i left it with them and they sorting out the waste gate flap and re threading a few threads and im hoping to pick it tommro and get it down for a mot on saturday if every thing goes to plan and smoothly

Got the kei back up and running last week and just had a mot done, past with flying colours and is a very clean and tidy car underneath with no rust all, will add lots of pictures over the weekend

got it all back together with new manifold and it started and every was good



didnt have the original air box so found a filter i had sat in garage and used that

drove to work for a couple of days and got board, didnt realy knwo what it was boosting so fitted a hks boost gauge and greddy boost controller at the same time as had then sat in garage doing nothing




its now running 0.8 bar of boost and pulls ok, its not massively fast but pulls well and puts a little smile on my face and get soem very strange looks when the dump valve goes of
