2003 (53) Suzuki Wagon R RR
86,250km/53,600 miles

For sale is my Wagon R RR - christened the "Wagon All-the-Rs" - which I purchased in October last year to free up my other kei car, a JDM Jimny with the first grumbles of corrosion, from daily duties.

Great overall condition, especially for it's age which I'd put down to it only being in the UK for 3-4 years and, so I'm told, being garaged over winter by all previous owners - I did the same and brought it out of hibernation in April this year. Mechanically spot on, it handles and drives great - it's a way better motorway cruiser than my Jimny! - and the auto works without issue. Body-wise the only niggles are a couple of scrapes on the lower lip of the front bumper (only really noticeable when you're down at that level!) and some deterioration of the lacquer on the rear wing which I inherited with the car but haven't managed to tackle. The Interior is clean with just a couple of pockmarks in the front seats (possibly from cigarettes, though the car doesn't smell of them at all so ?).

Although technically just a "stop-gap" car I couldn't help myself and ended up working on it quite a bit - below are the main headlines for servicing, maintenance and modifications whilst in my ownership (in km order).

80,596 km
[Servicing & Maintenance]
- MOT (Expires 30/03/2018) Advisories: Small LED rear fog light just meets minimum requirements? (I'll be replacing this as the MOT tester recommended that, whilst legal, it wasn't really visible enough for lorries etc.); Offside Rear Rear wheel bearing has slight play.

80,585km
[Modification]
- RSR Down Suspension (-35/40mm) installation
- Adjustable lateral/panhard rod (to re-centre rear axle after lowering) installation

80,944km
[Modification]
- Double DIN CD/MD stereo installation
- Front speaker replacement

82,522km
[Servicing & Maintenance]
- Turbocharger replacement (Part number-matched to the original)
- Oil & filter service
- Spark plug replacement
- Coolant replacement

83,339km
[Servicing & Maintenance/Modification]
- Alloy wheel refurbishment inc. wheel balancing

84,735km
[Modification]
- GFB Atomic Manual Boost Controller installation

All Wagon R RR-specific parts were purchased from Japan via Jesse Streeter ( www.jessestreeter.com ) who you should definitely know if you own a kei, or indeed any sort of JDM, car!

The subtle drop transformed the car IMO but I'll include the original springs with the sale should the next owner want to go back to the stock level. Amazingly they didn't really effect the ride, though even on stock springs it's quite firm - built for lovely Japanese asphalt I guess! The alloys were also badly corroded/scuffed and again getting them refurbished really finished things off.

The original turbocharger failed and I purchased a matching part replacement, once again from Jesse Streeter. Whilst swapping these I took the opportunity to do a full service - the only thing I didn't do was the ATF as I couldn't find the correct fluid at the time, but this will be done before the car is sold as 80,000km is about right for a fluid change. The new turbo runs faultlessly but it's actuator was a bit soft so I've pulled the boost back up to stock levels with a GFB boost controller - super stable and allows for very fine adjustments.

That's all I can think of - photos below (larger versions on request) and if you have any questions please ask away!

I still have the BOV but removed it for the stealth ;)

Yes, turbo death was unfortunate but not as catastrophic as it might sound - just lost boost all of a sudden and the spooling (or not spooling!) noises went very odd! Beginning to think 50k miles is about the life of a kei turbo as my Jimny had it's first replaced before I owned it and one during my ownership... it's now on 120,000 miles so hopefully another safe 30k! That said my Cappuccino seemed to have done 110k on it's original so who knows?!
